Taking God at His Word is so much more than just reading your Bible and following what It says. It means really and truly taking God at what He says.
Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need, according to his riches in glory, by Christ Iesus.”
Exodus 15:26 “for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
Hebrews 13:5 "for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
How often do we truly take these three verses literally? Even though we believe what the Bible says, do we truly have the revelation that it’s true? We’ve read the verses. But do we really believe them? Do we truly take God at His Word? Do we truly believe in our healing? Do we truly believe God will stay with us? Do we truly believe God will provide in every situation?
It takes faith to take God at His Word. It takes faith to accept our healing. God didn’t leave us with nothing on this earth. He gave us His Word, and with faith, we can access all our Christian rights and privileges.
Joy in times of hardship.
Healing from all diseases.
Protection from our enemies.
God’s providence in times of drought.
Wisdom.
Salvation.
The Holy Ghost.
And so, so, so, so many more amazing promises that come when you take God at His Word.
The Bible isn’t just a bunch of words written a long time ago, It’s alive and living. When you read it through the eyes of faith, it’ll come alive in your soul and light it aflame! Take little David in the Bible when he faced Goliath. He was tiny with only a slingshot and five stones. But he knew God was with Him. He was taking God at His Word, and when he did that, he overcame Goliath, just as we can overcome anything when we truly take the Word and apply It to our lives.
Our battles might be different from the ones they faced in the Bible, but we are still serving the same God that they were. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” His Word didn’t change. It is still the same. No matter the battle, through God, you can overcome it.
